Nylon microporous membrane is a natural hydrophilic membrane with good chemical compatibility, eliminating the need for wetting agents that could be extracted when filtering aqueous solutions. The membranes are flexible, durable and tear resistant, and can be autoclaved at 135ºC. It can filter all aqueous solutions and most organic solvents, such as alcohols, ethers, esters, ketones, etc. Nylon microporous membranes are widely used in sample collection, sample pre-filtration, sample detection and removal of particles, bacteria, microorganisms, etc.
The fibers of nylon-66 are 33% more resistant to abrasion than nylon-6, withstanding up to 60,000 cycles compared to 40,000 in the case of nylon-6.
With low creep, and more crystallinity, nylon-66 is slightly more rigid, allowing good stretch recovery and higher abrasion resistance.
